Froncie Quinn on Simply Quilts

Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call from HGTV's Simply Quilts one night as my daughter and I were fixing dinner! Celia, the producer on the other end of the line wanted to know if I was available at the end of January to come tape a segment with Alex Anderson. Naturally, the discussion ended with, " I'd LOVE to!" (as though it would have been any other answer!).

So, after many emails back and forth with my very own producer, Andrew, it was decided that " my" show would be more of a " walk and talk" about reproducing antique quilts, than a " methodology" show that is the usual format.

My friend, Bev, of Tiger Tape fame, owns her own business called Old Made Quilts. Being a Californian, she graciously offered to take the day off to spend it with me on the set. It is she who took the pictures to document my day.

Andrew met us at the door of the studio and led me to my " dressing room."

After several hours of discussion and " what if we do it this way," conversations, it was time to hang the antique Peony

and the reproduction quilts I had brought with me. When we opened the door to the studio I felt this incredible feeling. The set was so familiar!

I asked him if this was like Johnny Carson's green room, but I think he was way too young to get it! He first looked at the incredible Quilt in the dressing room and then we moved to the hallway outside the studio to discuss the other quilts and the format of the show.

continued.
