Clarissa White Alford Quilt pattern
Actually referred to as the "Windmill Blade Triangle Quilt" by the Shelburne Museum, Clarissa's quilt (75" x 87") is not merely a charming scrap quilt, but an incredible accomplishment for this 80 year old quilter! With meticulous thought to detail, she has chosen color gradations to create a pinwheel effect as the center of each block. Using antique fabric reproductions, or modern day brights, this quilt offers endless opportunities for creativity. Make an exact reproduction or, utilizing the enclosed worksheets, design a new setting for your blocks in order to develop your own version.
Quick piecing and hand methods are given for the designing of the hour-glass shapes. Also included is a page of "colorways" (color examples for fabricating the center pinwheels), quilting stencils, and, as in all the patterns, a Certificate of Completion suitable for framing when your quilt is finished.
